I really enjoy the food that my host family makes. Every day, I get to try something new!
My FAVORITE food is definitely the "frescos", or fresh fruit juices, which are ubiquitous in Nicaragua. My host family makes the most amazing frescos, which they keep in a huge bucket in the fridge.
During the first day with my host family, I drank about five glasses of fresco de pitaya because I liked it so much!
So far, I've tried pitaya (dragon fruit), arroz con piña (pineapple and rice), limonada, and the national drink, tiste (cocoa and maiz)

On the first day of work, we were supposed to take a bus to go to a rural community, but it started to rain

Bebe, their dog, who I am not allowed to touch because she hates new people! I have to give her a month or so to get used to me, which stinks because I want to play with her so badly! (I'm hoping that feeding her things like ham will expedite the process)
